The Battle for Northern Indiana - The Kitchen BMX & Skatepark Stop #2 Results

The Battle for Northern Indiana headed up to South Bend Indiana at The Kitchen BMX & Skatepark on this past Sunday for stop #2! Many thanks to everyone once again who helped make this a reality.  This contest focused on the younger generation of Riders and proved positive for all involved.  Next year we will add some more sponsors and some more locations to continue to grow the sport around the mid-west.

Dalton Edwards, a 15 year old young man who won the 1st stop in Fort Wayne just one week ago had a bad crash literally minutes before the event was to start. He crashed very hard on the box jump section and was rushed to a South Bend Hospital.  Dalton had emergency surgery and is now healing up, and is now in the recovery process..  Thanks to everyone at the Kitchen for the super good emergency skills that ensured Dalton was taken care of as fast as possible.    Please keep Dalton Edwards, and his Family in your thoughts and prayers as he heals up!

The Kitchen BMX & Skatepark - Local's Bustin' Loose!

The Kitchen has been a very special place since the beginning.  When one of the best riders on the planet decides to build a place in his hometown, you know its going to be something super special.  When Brett Banasiewicz decides to do something, he doesn't piss around.  He just goes ahead and builds one of the largest and most intimidating skateparks anyone could ever dream of..  With the help of many locals and riders alike, the dream became a reality.

New Republic Skatepark Open House!

We have finally reached the point in our scene where we have a indoor place to ride some BMX!  Hooray for New Republic Skatepark!  This coming Friday and Saturday will mark the 1st indoor season for area BMX'ers since 2007 when the Oasis Skatepark was forced to close due to a very leaky ceiling.  Most of the ramps and obstacles were re-purposed to the New Republic Park over the last winter and summer.
